We are looking for easy, simple ways to begin to make the healthy life-choices that we know are best for us. Exercise is perhaps the most productive change that can be made at first. In the United States today there is no question that the predominant lifestyle is a primarily sedentary one.  We sit all day at work in an office. We go home and sit down to watch some television. There is always a good excuse not to exercise.
Why are we afraid to exercise? Well, perhaps the main reason is that it means changing our routine and well-ingrained habits. Changing habits is always difficult at first. But if we believe it is really good for us that can make a big difference.
Another reason people are afraid to begin exercising is because they believe that in order for the exercise to be effective they need to dedicate tons of time and excruciating amounts of effort into it. This is completely fallacious, however. Any amount of movement a person does is better than none, and making small changes can make a big difference.
